The way we care for mothers matters.
Not just during birth. Not just in the first few days. But in the quiet weeks that follow, when the meals still need making, the laundry still piles up, your body is still healing, and you're trying to find your footing in a version of life that feels entirely new.
Somewhere along the way, we've been taught that postpartum is something to survive. That exhaustion is inevitable. That overwhelm comes with the territory. That doing it all ourselves is somehow a measure of how well we're mothering.
I don't believe that's true.
I believe mothers deserve to be cared for, too.
I believe that healing happens more easily when you're rested. That confidence grows when you have support. That having someone tend to the practical pieces of life creates space for you to focus on what matters most: recovering, bonding with your baby, and settling into your own becoming.
Because postpartum isn't simply a recovery period.
It's a transformation.
A reshaping of your body, your relationships, your identity, your understanding of yourself and the world around you.
This season deserves more than a quick check-in and a casserole dropped at the door.
It deserves care that is consistent, nourishing, and deeply supportive. The kind of care that allows you to really settle in to your new role, to breathe, to feel truly held.
The kind of care that reminds you that you were never meant to do this alone.

Here's how I describe what I do, because I think it says it better than anything else:
I'm a well-slept, functioning adult who comes into your home and picks up all the little pieces — the ones you usually handle, the ones your partner usually handles — so that you two can be together. Bonding. Resting. Healing. In your newborn love bubble, without the to-do list pulling at you.
Yes, I might hold and help care for the baby. But more than that, I'm there so YOU can hold your baby without feeling like you *should* be doing something else.
The dishes are done. The laundry's put away. There's food on the counter that I made for you. Your body has been tended to. And somewhere in those hours together, there was also time to just sit together and talk — about your birth, about how you're really feeling, about the big and small things that are surfacing as you step into this new version of yourself.
I'm also a wealth of knowledge for all the little questions that come with a brand new baby.
“How do I wrap the carrier? Does this latch look okay? Why is every diaper leaking out the back? Is this normal newborn behaviour, or should I be concerned?”
Early parenthood comes with a thousand tiny learning curves, and you weren't meant to navigate them alone. Alongside caring for you, I'm there to share my experience, offer practical guidance, answer questions as they arise, connect you with the resources you need, and most importantly: help you feel more confident in your own instincts as a parent.
My goal is that after every visit, your day feels easeful. Not just manageable — actually easeful.
Because you'll always remember how you entered parenthood. This is me helping make sure you remember it well.

Everything in The Well-Nourished Mother — and more of it.
More visits, more consistency, more time for your body and your heart to actually settle into this season instead of just surviving it.
Twelve visits means I'm a steady, familiar presence over the weeks when support matters most. The weeks when partners go back to work. When the adrenaline wears off. When the reality of postpartum — both the magic and the mess — really starts to land.
I come with flowers, meals, and snacks, ready to pick up wherever the home needs it — laundry, dishes, tidying, baby care, body care.
And every visit, there's also time that's just yours.
To vent, to process, to ask every question you've been storing up, to cry if you need to, to laugh about the absurdity of it all. The conversations that don't have anywhere else to go — about your birth, your body, your relationship, your identity, all of it shifting at once — those are welcome here.
That's not a bonus.
That's the real magic of this work.
This is for the mother who wants to move through early postpartum feeling genuinely held, in every sense of the word — body, home, and heart.

Birth and postpartum aren't two separate events. They're one continuous unfolding — and you deserve to be held through all of it.
The Full Circle brings together my complete birth support and postpartum care into one seamless experience. From our first prenatal meeting through six weeks of weekly in-home postpartum visits, I walk beside you through every threshold of this journey.
You get everything — the prenatal preparation, the on-call labour support, the birth photography, the somatic coaching, the nourishment at the birth. And then I stay. Six weeks of devoted weekly care as your body heals, your baby grows, and you find your footing in this extraordinary new version of yourself.
There's something that happens when the same person who held you through your birth shows up at your door on a Tuesday, three weeks postpartum. Who was there for the whole story. Who already knows what you went through, what surprised you, what moved you. You don't have to explain yourself. You don't have to catch anyone up. There's food on the counter, the home is tended to, and there's unhurried time — for your body, your questions, and everything you're feeling. You can just be.
This is for the mother who understands that how she moves through this rite of passage matters — and who wants to emerge from her early postpartum period feeling healed, nourished, witnessed, and truly well cared for.

"From the moment I met Lauren, I felt like I was talking to a dear friend. I immediately felt comfortable and supported as we explored topics like matrescence, boundary work, and partner dynamics after having a child. Our conversations became a lifeline for me during a particularly complicated postpartum period. I felt safe enough to leave my baby for a few hours to attend much-needed pelvic floor physiotherapy and other aftercare, thanks to Lauren’s nursing background. It was truly a privilege to be held by someone so passionate, knowledgeable, and kind."

"I can’t express enough how grateful I am for Lauren’s doula services. From the moment I decided to hire her around 34 weeks, I knew I had made the right decision. Her calming presence and unwavering support truly transformed my birth experience. Despite my birth plan not going as expected, Lauren ensured that I never felt judged or unsupported. Instead, I felt empowered, heard, and completely taken care of every step of the way."
